Sahara type desert.

In december I worked in Dubai but had some time to study the state of desert reclamation. Sahara type desert refers to a man made desert that lacks sufficient rain to recover. The desert there is a Sahara type and is getting worse due to over grazing (goats and camels) and the over use of artesian water. As is here, it is known there how to turn things about. The remedy is much the same as NSF with contoured earthworks, erosion control and so on. Land there that is fenced off does recover and no doubt if done on a large enough scale should tip the weather balance and attract more rain inputs.
