When I first read Peters Books, I thought Peter hasn't come across Gorse as this seems like the Ultimate Weed. It can spread via Seed, Roots and pieces of plant, and the seeds last forever. But after thinking about what Peter says, if it was that good it would have taken over the world. I would sugg...

Weed Residue
Has anyone done this thing of putting a mulch of a weed above and outbreak of the same weed and the residue kill the weed and had success? I haven't done it. But I am wondering if the same theory works with grass, I have been spreading old hay all over my paddocks, mainly the highest points. I am no...

Pumping Water
My 2 Bobs worth, If you start pumping water around you are getting away from the "Natural Sequence". One it will cost a fortune, 2 Nature will do it for free. The whole system will run with irregular water it set up correctly.
Ok in your back yard, but not 800 acres.

Flood irrigation is not a sustainable way to farm. This is partly what has got us into this mess and destroying the Murray/Darling basin and others. Water needs to be regularly pumped out of the river and into channels to get to the paddock, losing a lot in evaporation along the way. This leaves tho...

All great input guys! One consolidated Site will help us all. But my concern is that PA needs help on the ground, because there is a lot of ground out there. We need to get some training courses happening, some little apprentices. PA could charge good money to train, and this would ensure his vision...

Lucerne
Interesting to compare conventional advise to Peters advise. No wonder it is going to be an uphill battle. Here is Case study on growing Lucerne, I would love to see Peter put his method, I am sure it would be a little different, and a little cheaper. http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/dpi/nrenfa.nsf/93a9874...

New water grab fears
Hasnt Peter already proven that more water comes out of his system, not less! Do they want to fix the problems, or is it Just another Great Big Tax?

My version of a contour line.
As I am not fully understanding the contour line concept, I have come up with my version which isnt the same I guess, but I am hoping for a similar result. I have made a mound of manure accross a paddock, hoping that if there is an excess of rain it will carry some accross, and I am thinking that it...

I see a pic of a Keyline Plough, just wondering what Peter's Opinion of using these would be?

For those of us who dont have the fortune to own a flood plain, in my case I am on the side of a gently sloping block, we are craving the knowledge to put in a contour. Im my case in Central Vic, we dont get deluges, we get gentle rain, at its peak we probably only get run off occuring for one week ...

Coorong
Lets face it Shirley, not this Government nor any other Government is going to fix these problems. For starters, as per usual they are looking at the wrong end of the problem. The Coorong is at the end of a very long problem, going all they way up the Murray into the Snowy Mountains. We, the people ...

Weeping Willows
Hi Kez,
Peter suggests that Willows save more water than they use, as they shade your dam reducing evaporation, and for half the year they are dormant, not drinking any. I put put them where their roots can find their way to the water pretty much right on the waters edge.
