new discovery
Gidday all I have just had my Grandson staying for 2 weeks and he enjoys Yabbying. What i found out was that my dam holds yabbies, fish and fresh water prawns, i was pretty surprised. I didn't know about the prawns and was wondering if anyone might know where they come from, you see my run off creek...

yabbies
Gidday all Since i have dug a few water diversion trench's i have noticed that quiet a few yabbies have moved into them and dug a few houses along its length. Would i be correct in assuming that if they are there then the ground has got enough moisture in it and that they would over time improve the...

Carbon Tax
I am sure everyone has had the same results, but I will tell you anyway. I have written to both state and federal governments asking, when the carbon tax comes in how much rebate I will get as I am a carbon and oxygen farmer, (25 acres of scrub). As to be expected there has been no response. I worke...

Giving a talk to a small group of farmers and freemasons
I was wondering if Peter would be interested in giving a talk to a small group of Freemasons and Farmers in February 2012 in Gulgong.
Thanks

Re: Sun Shine
I agree whole heartly wirh you and why should a farmer pay any attention to some blow in towny. However if some farmers could see some of the results even on a small scale, perhaps it would give them food for thought. I am not a farmer but i tried something to see what it did, it seems to work and i...

Re: Sun Shine
Duane The mix of plants is pretty big I would say at a guess that there are about 10 different types, what they are I have no idea, but its green and the sifting bush is dying. i have also noticed that bottle brush plants seem to like wet feet. I started with a couple of small leaky dams and noticed...

Sun Shine
Gidday All I am sure everyone has the same thing happening, but i am surprised at how much the plant growth has increased at my place since it started to get a little warmer. The area i have been trying out my NSF idea has now been over run with plants that i have to push through a little and is aro...

Re: Mulching Gardens
Gidday Steph If your place is clay then digging up a little will probably hold water like a dish, if you sit it on top then the water can drain through the garden onto the clay layer underneath. My place is sandy so I need to put plant matter in the ground to try and stop the water from draining awa...

Re: End of the drought???
I am with Shirley, i would like to know how this year has changed or effected the properties.
On my place the run off creek hasn't stopped running and my plant growth has increased quiet a lot with a large increase in frogs.

Gidday Far Horizons
Sounds like you are doing well there, I have yet to get the mushrooms but hope they are not too far away. I think Peter has the right idea, so do the frogs.
How have you changed your weed / plant situation.
Have a good day

frogs
Gidday all
I figure that this system must be working as I have an increase in frogs in my puddles of water and on my office window.
As I understand is that the frog population has decreased everywhere, except here??
Something to think about anyway.

Re: How can this site be a beacon for NSF?
Gidday all I have been tickering with this NSF idea for a few years now and this year we have had a lot of rain. For a while very little happened, however I seem to have plant growth and water dispersion going everywhere at the moment and i look forward to when it dries up again to see how well I ha...
