Re: The War on Willows

Thanks for that Duane, interesting, When Ian and I started NSF in The Avon catchment we had all the support we could ask for from the Avon Catchment Council, resources etc etc, the moment we mentioned Willows, they did a massive back peddle and basically told us that they wouldn't support us if we p...

Re: The War on Willows

Ghosta, Don't you think that your overlooking what you have said? Because of the problems with some varieties of willows seeding and spreading uncontollably I believe it is better to use alternative plants. You can't treat all willows in the same catergory. Some don't reseed. If it grows then let it...

Re: The War on Willows

I don't really care what you think, all I'm trying to say is keep the willows! If your not prepared to listen, that's not my problem either. I couldn't care less what tree it is, all I care about is seeing trees, not piles of sticks from trees being ripped out of the ground. This year I drove down o...

Re: The War on Willows

Well well Ghosta???? I am a Broadacre Farmer. I have ventured down that road of listening to Farm Advisors etc etc, which in turn nearly sent us Broke. I then found NSF and finally realised what it was all about. As a matter of fact I am trying to make changes and also try some new ideas that aren't...

Re: The War on Willows

What a load of claptrap, It is invasive. It spreads too quickly It's residue fails to break down. Its a monoculture. It's killing ALL of our catchments. It prevents biodiversity from growing beneath it. It takes more water out of our waterway systems than native plants And the landscape condition ha...

Re: The War on Willows

Thanks Shirley, Great Pic....Wake up Australia, we should be promoting all plants, we need green stuff! Green stuff makes Rain! who cares about weeds, they grow to repair the soil, they only grow because the soil is unbalanced....most of the time its because the calcium to magnesium ratio is unbalan...

Re: The War on Willows

That is disgraceful, what a mess, here we are talking about greenhouse emissions, carbon credits, and they are removing beautiful weeping willow trees which provide shade, stop our rivers from erosion and also feeds our ecosystem. The problem is the people that order the destruction of the willows s...

Re: Exhaust emissions fertiliser

Hi Duane, Yes I do remember you saying last year it was snake oil, well we were all a bit worried, but we didn't have much of a choice. I only hope that people look at they way they are running their farming business and consider their budgets and look at the huge finical risk they are taking when t...

Re: Exhaust emissions fertiliser

By the way, Ian and I just finished a 4 day NTS Sustainable Farming Course and are very excited on our new programme that we are developing with Nutri Tech Solutions. So with that in mind, incorporated with emissions and NTS liquid products, and humates, next year should be a blast! If anyone is inte...

Re: Exhaust emissions fertiliser

Nice comment Ian! :D I guess we need the Sceptics, Peter has had to put up with them for years. Look what they did to him! shamefull. The good thing is, no matter what, Peter strives along and shares his knowledge and is so passionate on what he does as he has had results, Now it is our turn to try ...

Re: Exhaust emissions fertiliser

Hi All, Just an update on our crops....looking very good in colour and hanging in there considering the lack of rain. 13 frosts in a row knocked them back but they are madly tillering with massive root systems, if it comes in wet they will boom. We are so excited with the response and the feedback f...

Re: How can this site be a beacon for NSF?

I really feel that we are loosing the real picture here....It's not about who is making money...It's about getting off our arses and making a difference. If we all did a little bit on our farms and changed our practices that we have been blindly advised to by our farm advisors and started to look on...
